PRIVACY POLICY

Tooldent operates this store and website, including the related information, content, features, tools, products, and services that we make available (collectively, the "Services").

Tooldent primarily supplies professional dental laboratory instruments, rotary tools, consumables, equipment, and related products to dental laboratories, dental practices, technicians, educational institutions, businesses, resellers, and other professional customers.

Tooldent is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and otherwise process personal information when you visit or use the Services, place or return an order, create an account, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with Tooldent.

If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy regarding the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information, this Privacy Policy controls.

1. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

"Personal information" means information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to an identifiable individual. It does not include information that has been anonymized or de-identified so that it can no longer reasonably identify an individual.

Depending on how you interact with Tooldent and the Services, we may collect or process the following categories of personal information:

  • Contact information, including your name, business name, job title, billing address, shipping address, mailing address, telephone number, and e-mail address.
  • Business and professional information, including the organization you represent, department, professional role, purchasing authority, business-account information, reseller information, and tax-exemption information.
  • Account information, including account identifiers, login credentials, preferences, saved addresses, settings, and account activity.
  • Transaction information, including products viewed, added to your cart or wishlist, purchased, returned, exchanged, or cancelled, and your transaction history.
  • Payment and billing information. Payment-card and financial information is generally processed by Shopify, payment processors, banks, card networks, or other payment providers. Tooldent may receive limited information such as payment status, billing address, transaction identifiers, payment method, and limited card details.
  • Shipping and fulfillment information, including delivery addresses, carrier and tracking information, customs information, delivery status, and information needed to fulfill or return an order.
  • Product, warranty, and traceability information, including manufacturer article numbers, lot numbers, serial numbers, UDI information, warranty or repair information, photographs, videos, and technical information submitted in connection with a product.
  • Communications with us, including information contained in customer-service inquiries, e-mails, telephone communications, return requests, warranty claims, reviews, and feedback.
  • Device and usage information, including IP address, browser and device information, operating system, network information, identifiers, cookies, pages viewed, links clicked, searches performed, referring pages, session information, and interaction dates and times.

  • Shopify, which hosts and supports our ecommerce platform and related services;
  • payment and financial-service providers, including banks, card networks, payment processors, and fraud-prevention providers;
  • shipping and fulfillment providers, including carriers, fulfillment partners, customs brokers, and logistics providers;
  • manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and service centers where necessary for fulfillment, special orders, repairs, warranties, recalls, technical support, or traceability;
  • technology, analytics, advertising, and other service providers that help us operate, secure, analyze, support, or promote the Services;
  • professional advisers, including accountants, auditors, insurers, consultants, and legal advisers;

Tooldent does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. However, certain advertising, analytics, or data-sharing activities may be considered a "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising" under some United States state privacy laws even where no money is exchanged.

5. SHOPIFY AND INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING

The Services are hosted by Shopify. Shopify collects and processes personal information relating to your access to and use of the Services in order to provide, secure, support, and improve its platform and related services.

Where Shopify Network Intelligence or other Shopify enhanced services are enabled for our store, Shopify may process information about your interactions with Tooldent together with information from your interactions with Shopify and other merchants to provide services such as fraud prevention, personalization, analytics, advertising, and platform improvements.

In circumstances where Shopify independently determines the purposes and means of processing personal information, Shopify is responsible for that processing and for applicable privacy requests relating to it.

The Services are intended for adults and professional or business users and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in a manner prohibited by applicable law.

Tooldent does not knowingly sell or share, as those terms are defined under applicable United States privacy laws, personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.

9. SECURITY AND RETENTION

Tooldent and our service providers use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Please do not send passwords, full payment-card numbers, government identification numbers, or other highly sensitive information through unsecured e-mail or other unsecured communication channels.

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and to meet legitimate business, legal, accounting, tax, warranty, product-safety, traceability, fraud-prevention, security, and dispute-resolution requirements.
